After serious consideration and having consulted with the Rally Commission, the Rally Committee of the South Canterbury Car Club has decided to shift this year's Rally of South Canterbury from Saturday 1st May 2010 to Saturday 15th May 2010.
The Committee felt that the May 1st date may have presented the organisers with safety issues way and above those normally experienced with the running of a Rally. By shifting to the 15th of May the Rally avoids the traditionally popular opening day of Duck shooting.
The new date also conforms to the Rally Commission's plan of having at least three weeks between rallies.
The South Canterbury Car Club Rally Committee is at present working on an event comprising of 8-9 gravel stages, totalling around 150km of special stages, covering the region immediately to the south of Timaru.
More information will be available shortly.
